    1. Surprisingly nice! (review by KayakDon on 9/26/2016)

I've been looking for a coach-style 12 ga. shotgun just to buy for giggles. Accordingly, I didn't want to stick a bunch of money in to it. I ran across this Century Arms model and did a little sleuthing on the internet. Made in China. Not a good thing......but it had remarkably good reviews. Searched around and found CenterfireGuns had the best deal, and available inventory. Ordered one. Easy enough. When the gun is received, and the box opened, the view is REALLY nasty. The manufacturer must dip the whole gun in a barrel of oil before they throw it in the Styrofoam container for shipment. The box must get tossed around on the way across the pond as the styrofoam is all busted up and stained brown from the excess oil. One is really tempted to just tape the box back up and refuse it. But don't. It is easier to clean up this mess than one fears. When you do get through all the crud the gun is surprisingly nice for its price range and country of manufacture. Wipe off all the oil. Use a toothbrush to get some of the wood dust out of the checkering grooves. Yadda, yadda. If you've read any other reviews on this gun you'll find an almost universal comment that the gun is hard to break open. IT IS! But you'll also read that this gets better with use. It does. You'll also read that you might have a struggle opening the gun after first shooting it. You might. I didn't. What you will notice is how well the gun fit-up is. You'll be surprised at how good the finish is. You probably won't be too impressed with the imprinting of the gun info on the barrel, but you'll live. Maybe I just got lucky with this specific gun, but I like the little SOB. We are absolutely not talking "best of show" quality, but for the price, and for my purposes, it's great!
